Thank you Thom.
Eric Migicovsky, thanks! Looking forward to it...See you tomorrow!
Hi Shar, each pitch is only given 90 seconds. Check a prior post, we just announced the six which were selected.
Hello Thom,
Just wondering what the time restriction on the pitch might be.
Thank you Shar.
A film every person in high tech should see. It’s not the success; it’s the depths to which he has to go before he climbs out. It’s also his commitment to his son.
If you take a risk there is a chance of failure. The success of the failure is climbing back up and doing all over again. Eventually you will succeed.
You will never succeed if you do not take a risk
I enjoyed the talk a lot - very captivating. I liked his 'viral' ideas; it just shows his great understanding of people's motives.
I am really keen to meet new people and discover new possibilities..
Thanks for your prompt reply Thom! I've picked up a ballot during the speed dating event and I am going to drop it off at the next event before this Thursday!
It will be great if you can list the selected "pitchers" on the e-week website as well ... just my 2-cent :)
no doubt, it was great to connect. Thanks to everyone involved!
The pitch ballots are dead simple:
- First Name/Last Name
- Company or Organization Name
- Telephone
- Email
- A very short description (it's only used to be sure you actually have a pitch, it won't be qualified based on the little description you put in there)
That's it. You can pick up a ballot and fill it out at just about any regular eweek event. You have until 3:00pm on Thursday evening to get it in the ballot box (which is also travelling around to events). The pitches will be selected at random on Thursday evening, and we'll call the selected "pitchers" that evening to confirm. Those doing a pitch have to be at the event the next morning and ready to pitch to the audience. The winners will be selected at the event by audience ballot.
Don't wait til Thursday! Get those pitches in there!
Hey Ray... it's in The Embassy Room at Bingemans -- that's the smaller stand-alone building in the smaller parking lot.
Hi Thom, thanks for the info! I am interested in participating the pitch competition as well. I wonder what info we need to provide with the ballot?
Thanks!
Great documentary on a dot.com boom bust and the human cost.
Hi Jane,
Great question, thanks for asking it.
I've been networking for years and long ago left any anxieties in the dust. But I work with a lot of career changers, entrepreneurs, and solo professionals who tend to have the following issues ...
Which Building?
Hello, is anyone commuting from Hamilton to go to this event? If someone is, please email me at chico1st@hotmail.com with some contact information.
Thank you very much.

Sacca's presentation at TLC was an absolute killer! We did a 1-minute summary of the slides and posted a couple of photos in case anyone is interested:

Majid, you decide. Since you won't know who will be judging the pitch, my suggestion is to try to mitigate between the two. I was tempted to tell you to appeal to the masses, but with this crowd, you never know.
Don't forget - we can only accommodate so many pitches, so there's just a chance you could be selected to pitch.
